I’m Kate Handley, a qualified practitioner of Shiatsu.
I completed a 'Level 4 Diploma' course in Shiatsu with the Bristol School of Shiatsu in early 2023. The 3-year course leads to a government-recognised qualification (RQF), regulated by Ofqual. I am registered with the British Shiatsu Society and fully insured.
I love working as a Shiatsu practitioner and am convinced of its benefits. It can be wonderfully therapeutic, full of magic and surprises. At the very least, after receiving a Shiatsu treatment, you’re likely to feel relaxed and, in some way, rebalanced and refreshed.
Some of my clients tell me they come away feeling more in touch with who they are, with a greater awareness of their priorities in life and what they do or don’t want to change!
I approach every Shiatsu treatment with an open mind, with no set agenda and no assumptions. Shiatsu is led by the communication between client and practitioner, both spoken and ‘felt’. I aim to tune in to your needs and ‘design’ your session accordingly.
And away from the treatment sessions?
Alongside practicing Shiatsu, I work as a carer, visiting people in their homes. I spend my spare time enjoying the beautiful South West countryside and gardening, growing flowers and veg, as much as I can. Time is limited though as I have 2 teenage children who usually need me to be their taxi driver!
